Almost all mess product is made from 3mm thick aluminium (some are 2mm). It's lightweight, strong and corrosion-free. It has more "flex" (bend) than steel, but is still suitably strong enough for its use.

Aluminium is one of Earth's most sustainable materials - It's infinitely recyclable. Nearly 75% of all aluminium ever produced is still in use today.

For now, all product is powder coated matt traffic white (RAL 9016, a very slightly warm white), matt grey white (RAL 9002, a more beige white), matt stone grey (RAL 7030, a warm concrete grey) or ferrograin black. "Matt" really means not gloss. The finish is still very smooth to the touch, with a slight satin sheen that is easily cleaned. Ferrograin is a rougher, almost subtle sandpaper texture that looks great and is still easily cleaned.

Products that are fitted to masonry walls are supplied with stainless steel hex cap screws. They look good and are highly resistant to corrosion. The thread of the screw is straight, not tapered, but it fits comfortably into the supplied wall plugs.

For product that is intended for installation in cabinet doors or carcasses, wood screws are supplied.
